Scott McCullough - A Director to Watch -

An exclusive Q&A with director, S C O T T M C C U L L O U G H (Scott McCullough)

Q: It's Spring and Summer is coming! Are you swimsuit ready?

A: It's always a battle right? My calves are there I think.

Q: MizzNina feat. Colby O'Donis "What You Waiting For," is your newest music video that you directed. Colby hit it, vocally with Lady Gaga ---what is the funniest thing that Colby did while shooting?

A: Apparently Colby always "acquires" something (prop, instrument) from every shoot, but I have no idea whats missing. I expect a call someday.

Colby was absolutely great. He was professional and on point with giving his all. He loves to sing acapella (mostly current tunes) while waiting for set ups and he's very good. I certainly loves Michael Jackson and you can see some inspiration on camera...he can hit some moves. It was our first time working together and I hope for more.

MizzNina was amazing and wonderful! She really got into it and was a champ. I think they both had fun a lot, except for the long hours which are known for in videos. This will be a great hit for her and with her talent, she'll do great. She is such a sweetheart! The hardest part with her was everything looked great on her!

They were a blast together and Treasure Entertainment (the producers) always kept it tight.

I did 25 Prince videos (Sexy MF, Gett Off/home video, Diamonds and Pearls Tour films/videos) and the wardrobe source for conversation was richer with him...I mean who can rock a do-rag better than Prince? I certainly can't do that or the speedo-suspender combo.

Q: Mirror, mirror on the wall -- who would be blowing up your phone this week to say "yes," to your project---which is (details, please)?

A: I expect more music videos, I would love to work with Rhianna, Dave Matthews, Prince (again) and anything Black Eyed Peas. I do mostly car commercials (out of Square Planet, LA) and love the fashion, action, sexiness and appeal of this shooting.

Q: Who is your favorite director of photograpjy and why?

A: Robert Richardson. Mainly because of his ability to go beyond convention. He has lit many important films and worked along side many respected directors. also, Matthew Rolston, the late, great Herb Ritts (I do still work). Stylistically, there are so many, but I am a fan of Tony Scott's style and approach to production design, editors - teaming them with a great DP (he uses different ones).Film making is always evolving and audiences are very savvy.

Connect children, connect and follow this talented soul.
