Disney Shuts Down Miramax for Good
The Miramax offices in New York and Los Angeles closed their doors today. Cry for the little people not for the big boys.

It would not be a surprise if Disney decided to sell off those half-dozen Miramax titles that remain in the works. Asking price for the Miramax name and 500-title library’s believed to be a bracing $1.5 billion.

Cry for the little people!

Go get the money on NBC: Greenlights on Two More Pilots
NBC on Thursday picked up two more pilots: drama “The Cape” and comedy “Outsourced.” “The Cape,” from “Empire” creator Tom Wheeler, is a light drama with a comic book sensibility.

Call your agents and managers and hire a very talent publicist – I know a great one. Hint-hint.

Hoffman’s Production Company Getting Busy with Projects
Philip Seymour Hoffman and Emily Ziff’s production shingle Cooper’s Town Prods. is pushing ahead with a handful of projects, including psychological thriller “The Well,” comedy “Mr. Crumpacker and The Man From The Letter,” the untitled Mississippi Basketball Project, an atypical sports drama set on cusp of the civil rights movement and based on Dean Colvard’s tome “Mixed Emotions,” and also is developing “The Farm” for the bigscreen, based on the New York Magazine cover story and upcoming book by Manny Howard. Scribe Donal Lardner Ward has been set to adapt the story of a Brooklyn husband and father of two who, battling a career downturn, finds a renewed sense of purpose when transforming his backyard into a working, urban farm.

Phil, hire Anthony Alessandro. You know he is good!

Netflix on Its Way to World Domination
Netflix’s fourth-quarter performance sparkled as its DVD-by-mail service surpassed 12 million subscribers.

Gotcha!

PETER JACKSON is so yadacity with THE LOVELY BONES

There are few things not to like about Peter Jackson’s THE LOVELY BONES.

Of course, the lost of a child is not something to be celebrated but our collective need to believe we are never-really separated by those you love (and those that love you) makes this a “feel good” movie, believe it or not.

Yadacity heads up, this film is worth your hard earned money but try and get the first show at your local theater or the early bird special.

Peter Jackson has his paper try and save as much as you can with yours.

Keep your eyes on Camille Winbush

Camille Winbush

• Keep your eye on Camille Winbush, the three-time NAACP Image Award winning actress (currently on ABC ‘s “The Secret Life of An American Teenager,” recently, she showed her support with Patricia Heaton for the Westside Pregnancy Clinic (WPC) -- a non-profit community care clinic based in Los Angeles,

One of our reporters on the scene, snacking down on the best chicken ever (from Earlez Grille (323. 292.1822) asked Camille why?

Yadacity question: “Why do you care?”

Answer: “It’s personal. My 21-year-old cousin is going to have a baby. It’s a girl. She, like so many others need a place like this.”

Because of services, like this, this girl will be healthy and given every opportunity to step up to the plate and win.

Yadacity has respect…go on girl…keep clocking those ABC dollars and keep your heart open to the world.

PATRICA HEATON is a caring woman in THE MIDDLE!

PATRICA HEATON is a caring woman in THE MIDDLE!

Patrica Heaton (now giving her flavor on ABC’s THE MIDDLE) gives a damn. She cares. Missy H. does not talk it, she walks it and she has yadacity respect. Well done.

What she is passionate about is a place to help pregnant women and their children and family. She is passionate about the West Side Pregnancy Clinic and on Saturday, January 23rd they “cut a ribbon."

Westside Pregnancy Clinic (WPC), is a non-profit community care clinic based in Los Angeles, The creation of this third clinic grew from WPC’s desire to expand its commitment to a community with the greatest need.

The Crenshaw district seemed a good choice. The West Side Pregnancy Clinic champions early Prenatal Care. They provide pregnancy testing, parenting education, support, and then they step up to spearhead the Prevention, Testing and Treatment of Sexually Transmitted Infections.

On hand with Patricia Heaton was actress Camille Winbush (more on her this wonderful sister), Talitha Phillips, the CEO, Dr. Cadrin E. Gill, Tera K. Hilliard, Isadore Hall III, Minister D’Antoinette Williams and Mr. Spencer Hart.

Tera Hilliard, the Clinic Director stated:“By educating our clients, we will equip them with the information they need to make informed choices about sexual activity, pregnancy and parenting,”

Opps, did yadacity mention that it’s free? Free. What’s free ---this is free ----pregnancy testing, limited obstetric ultrasound, tests for sexually transmitted infections (STI’s), education on prenatal care, nutrition and general newborn health for expectant mothers, along with parenting classes for mothers and fathers -- vital services that many minority groups do not receive.

Emmy Award winner Patricia Heaton (“The Middle”) is on the board.

More on Ms. H and Camille Winbush, the three-time NAACP Image Award winning actress who stars on ABC Family’s weekly drama “The Secret Life of An American Teenager."

Westside Pregnancy Clinic is open Monday - Thursday with hours from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Brad and A going split, split?

The jaws are wagging about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie possible split!
Whatever people. At least Brad and Angelina cared enough to reach back and help others! At least they made a lifetime commitment to that truth. At least they keep their word.

These are not stupid people. I assure you the understand how lucky they are.

For those not in the industry, an actor stands on a mark, remember their lines --which are written (most of the time) by creative writers---wink-smile-roll-shoot and get Millions of dollars. Angelina and Brad are aware that police-persons, fire-persons, teachers, etc… step to the plate and do their work just as hard, if not harder, and they don’t get millions of dollars.

This team gives and not to get “publicity,” the step to service for the right reasons.

Yadacity says back the “f*#$%^&*” off. All relationships have a give and take and it’s private.

There are children involved and might we suggest, get a solid, interesting life for yourself. Love, eat, lose and thank whatever is clever that you live to fight another day.

Yadacity for SAG

Here is yadacity’s pov on the SAG awards.

Sofia Vergara (ABC’s MODERN FAMILY) is one of the funniest women on the planet. She can’t help it; I think she prefers to laugh than cry. More to come from that Colombian! On a fashion Vegara tip, she did rock in the Carolina Herrera gown

Mo’Nique’s shout out to Lee Daniel’s was on point! He is an amazing, amazing creative.

Suggestion, read a book and pick up Sapphire’s PUSH.

GLEE, much like MODERN FAMILY and 30 ROCK has great creative energy behind it. Opps, so does UGLY BETTY, BROTHERS & SISTERS and lest us not forget THE OFFICE…

Julianna Margulies is a tremendous soul. Our team knows about her personal generosity and support of the arts, keep it going sister! Loving the locks, did Dr. Boogie do your ‘hair/’

Alec Baldwin is one funny man and our staff knows his love of pizza. Thin crust still your favorite or is anything that is good and cheesy still going to make your Irish eyes smaile? Yadacity would like to know.

Michael C. Hall --- sending you more love than you can imagine. Good energy going to GOD-Buddha-Allah or just your family’s chicken soup to keep your fight up with a smile.

We wish ‘Dexter,’ could have a private meeting with ugly diseases, starting with Hodgkin lymphoma, . The world would support that.

ONE NIGHT is a Netflix Rental - New York, sing it out

Yadacity wants you to meet filmmaker Michael Knowles.

Michael is an award winning filmmaker who acts, writes, directs, edits, produces and to top it off, is also a cinematographer.

His short film “Nick and Stacey,” which premiered at the 2005 Tribeca Film Festival is now available on i-tunes.

Michael’s second film is “ROOM 314,”{which he wrote, directed and produced twice as a play before making it into a feature film.

The New York Times called Room 314 “an actors dream.”

Joe Leydon of Variety stated the Michael has a “fine-tuned gift for creating vivid characters with a minimum of dialogue and a sure feel for establishing and sustaining tension, sexual or otherwise, within limited timespans."

The Hollywood Reporter stated that: "The Filmmaker clearly has a gift for incisive characterizations and dialogue."

Now on to “ONE NIGHT” (which he wrote) was selected by 10 Film Festivals, two of which earned Knowles Best Director nods. Variety had this to say about One Night: "…pic gleans decent perfs from a cast mixing up-and-comers and a couple notable vets."

Michael’s next feature, “East Fifth Bliss,: is set to start filming in April of 2010 and will star Michael C. Hall. East Fifth Bliss was adapted from the novel of the same name by it’s author, Douglas Light and Knowles.

ONE NIGHT is a Netflix Rental - New York, sing it out

Confused by all of the choices on NETFLIX? Don't worry yadacity has a suggestion, rent ONE NIGHT!

It's about crazy New Yorkers on their way to finding life, joy, good food, better friends and enjoying that lovely-complicated and inspringing city.

Hey New York, we miss you with every bit of our souls......

ONE NIGHT
Fifteen New Yorkers go into a Friday night unaware of the fact that their lives are about to change. Larry, an A&R executive, has been sublimating his deep fear of commitment by carrying on an affair with his young assistant, Emily, unbeknownst to his stunning model girlfriend, Mia, who gives her friend Gary advice about his love life while being unaware of the problems in her own relationship. Abby, a sensitive college student, worships her older boyfriend Marc, while thinking her devoted friend Clarice is only a child.

Michelle is looking forward to meeting Jack, with whom she's flirted online but has never met in person. Wendy is sure she needs a change in her life, but she's not sure what it should be. And Greg, a charming but nervous actor, finally gets to go out with Angelina, the object of a long-standing crush.

As the night unfolds, the characters all convene at the same music venue, and their lives intersect in ways both humorous and poignant. Angelina, who sings in a band that's performing at the venue, has to deal with the fact that Leroy, the lead singer, isn't over her. When Abby sees Marc, who's a bartender at the venue, hitting it off with Emily, it turns her world on its head, and she ends up seeking comfort in Clarice's arms. Emily, in turn, has to deal with an uncomfortable situation with Larry and Mia's presence together. Wendy hits it off with a Doug, a middle-aged guy who's had his heart broken, and realizes that she's hardly the only person her age longing for connection.

And Michelle has a dream date with Jack, but is unaware that her ex, a guy so dangerously broken-hearted that he's on the verge of losing it altogether, is watching her. Throughout these moments, we can see that the characters are driven by an unconscious desire for human connection, and their interactions with strangers reveal to them what they've been missing, allowing them to see others -- and themselves -- in a truer light.

By the morning, their lives have changed -- some subtly, some dramatically, but all irreversibly.

Mariah rocks Palms Springs

Mariah Carey's performance, in the incredible film 'Precious' is good enough to win her awards.

However, it was her acceptance speech, at the Palm Springs Film Festival that has people tongues wagging. Shame, don’t hate!

In our opinion, it just gave us one more reason to adore her.

Mimi accepted her award ---for Breakthrough Actress for her role in the critically loved film Precious' ... and that's when things got “colorful.”

One Huge reason is that Lee Daniels understands how to get a performance from talent—he is gifted.

In the words of the great Joy B. of ABC’s THE VIEW “Who cares, so what?”
Mariah is a hard working businesswoman, performer, wife and loyal friend (a true friend) to many. She is tired, excited, exhausted, driven and determined. We all need sleep….

So toast with cherry wine, relax, pop in your favorite cod (of Mimi) and before the track begins do your best Joy B. impression “Who cares, so what!?

BEN STEIN has GOD on CBS....

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

My confession:
I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees... I don't feel threatened... I don't feel discriminated against.. That's what they are, Christmas trees.
It doesn't bother me a bit when people say, 'Merry Christmas' to me. I don't think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn't bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it's just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don't like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don't think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can't find it in the Constitution and I don't like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren't allowed to worship God as we understand Him? I guess that's a sign that I'm getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it's not funny, it's intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham's daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her 'How could God let something like this happen?' (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response.. She said, 'I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we've been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?'

In light of recent events... terrorists attack, school shootings, etc.. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O'Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn't want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn't spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock's son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he's talking about.. And we said okay..

Now we're asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don't know right from wrong, and why it doesn't bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with 'WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.'

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world's going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send 'jokes' through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

Are you laughing yet?
Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you're not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.
Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.
Pass it on if you think it has merit.
If not, then just discard it... no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don't sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.
My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,
Ben Stein
