Utada, Utada, Utada

Yadacity and yadacity rainbow is calling singer-songwriter-producer Hikaru Utada

Utada is one of the biggest pop stars in the universe. Over the last ten years, her accomplishments in Japan are simply staggering.

On This Is The One, (on Island Def Jam) some of the tunes feature ten self-penned songs produced by the powerhouse producers Stargate (Ne-Yo, Rihanna, and Beyonce) and Tricky (Britney Spears, Madonna, and Mariah Carey)).

26-year-old Utada was born and raised in Manhattan and educated at Columbia University.

Utada grew up surrounded by music. Her father, Teruzane Utada, was an accomplished musician and producer, and her mother, Keiko Fuji, was a successful Japanese enka (ballad) singer.

Check her out and join the global love fest.

U, yadacity would like a Q&A! Have your people call our people!

BRIAN J. PATTERSON knows something about Pushing

Here is our Q&A with Brian J. Patterson
www.brianjpatterson.com

His new project is PUSHING BOUNDARIES a pilot that harkens back to the days of TALES OF THE CITY, but gives it a new, updated, and fresh approach. It follows the lives of people living in San Francisco. Brian plays a character that, well, conflicted. ;)

A yadacity exclusive
Q&A with Brian J. Patterson -
Q: Why do you love your work?
A: I love my work because I feel like I get to be a perpetual child playing in a sandbox with my friends. We're constantly collaborating to create new & beautiful pieces of art. Work actually feels like play, but does not negate for me how powerful it can be. I just have to be careful. Sometimes I get a little overzealous. I mean, hey...there's only so much sand we have to work with here, right?

Q: If you had five minutes to talk to anyone in your field, who would it be and what would be "that question," and what would you wear!

A:
It would be Meryl Streep & Gary Oldman. For clothes, I'd probably be wearing what I'm most comfortable in and wear every day...jeans and tee. I'm pretty much who I am wherever I go, so I’m not about to change that, I don't care who you are. I'd initiate with one of my famous rhetorical questions, "you know you're both f**kin killin me, right?" And, then I'd use the rest of the five minutes to ask them out to dinner so I could REALLY talk with them, And then I'd ask...no, I'd tell them both, "okay, all the secrets...spill it!

Q: Three cities, in the world, and where would you like to screen your first film and where would you like to stay?
A: London - so I could stay with my friend JennyLA - because I could stay with friends and can visit with a lot of my friends. SF - because I could stay at home, I prefer chilling with friends rather than staying in hotels. Hotels are fun, but there's no place like home.

Q; what is your next project?
A: I'll be in a musical entitled BOYS WILL BE BOYS. It's playing at New Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco May-June. I'm really excited because I get to work with some award nominated talent that I have worked with in the past. We just began rehearsals yesterday.

You can get tickets at www.nctcsf.org.

Eduardo and Ricky?

Buzz on the Latino line is who did Ricky Martin (now out) have in his warm, sexy bed?

Some are buzzing that Eduardo Verastegui (“Bella”) as one that he held close and dear.

I know Eduardo. He is one of the kindest people I have every met.

Forgot his looks that is nothing. Nothing compared to his loyalty, passion and determination to do good and correct “wrongs.”

He is beautiful but inside out …..

Ricky M., glad you are out! Question, brother will you do an exclusive Q&A for yadacity?

Yadacity and yadacity rainbow sends you love and kisses. Enjoy every moment of this life.

UGLY BETTY and ABC are going.....

UGLY BETTY, based on the international sensation” Betty La Flea,” is coming to it’s U.S. end, on ABC with a classy bang.

This journey for the character Betty was, for me, life changing. Seriously. When my mother had her stroke and was found “non responsive and then moved to “intensive care,” also known as “any moment now,” I watched UGLY BETTY( on abc.com) over and over again.

This happened the night before Thanksgiving. My father passed on Halloween (a Gemini and I think it was a good date). Pre=thanksgiving has many layers to my story. Layer one, this is the only day that my mother, who had no -ability to cook was transported over night. She became a master in the kitchen. How? I do not know. Why, I might have an idea. But the: how,” is something even Penn and Teller could not figure out.

The turkey, perfect; succulent, a single cut and juices flowed like a waterfall, over the oyster dressing and roasted vegetables. How, I do not know?

The smell of the yams roasting in the heat. The aroma of the rich-rich-rich gravy that stood shoulder- to -shoulder with exotic lettuce, ripe tomoatoes, crimson onions and fresh ground pepper. These images, I will never forget. Yet, I still do not know how?

Did I mention the cheeses (mostly from Germany and France) displayed on a silver tray. Along the side in an oval dish, sausages and pickles.

And then there was more. There was always more. Broiled turnips, steamed veggies with lemon, sage, sea-salt and thyme.

And then there was more.

Roasted peppers from sweet to hot. Grilled onions, almost so filled they were going to fall lout of the pots. Roasted garlic. Olives in other silver trays.

And then there was more.

Fresh, homemade cranberry sauce just this side of sweet and just this side of spice.

MAC& CHEESE (NO WORDS) just smack your lips and remember the first time such a simple meal made you feel so good!

And there, there was more.

Home made corn bread and on the side ---butter! Home made biscuits with butter and honey on the side.!

Butter ruled that day. Ho sauce, oh come on now, that should be understood … what would a sweet life be without a touch of heat.

363 days y mother could, could not do this. 363 days, t was not possible and then the clocked turn and that day---her hands did not belong to her.

How? I do not know. Why? I think because she loved us. I think.

And in the end …. a sweet potatoes pie with crème cheese. Not just any pie. That pie.

I am convinced (and you can never change my mind) that sweet potatoes fairies came down and guided my mother’s hands. 363 days the ability was not there but on Thanksgiving (and maybe a few hours on Thanksgiving eve) she roasted into forever, in that day, she was legend.

HANGAR 3 PRODUCTIONS has no skeltons in the ......

Q&A with Brian Jones of HANGAR 3 PRODUCTIONS.

Get up to speed children, "HANGAR 3 PRODUCTIONS,” is a full service production company based in Los Angeles, California.

The company was founded by Ken Turner and Brian Jones (in the fall of 2009) right around the time a high quality short film entitled “Country Time With Papa” was filmed in beautiful Santa Barbara. “There’s something magical happening” was one of many quotes used to describe the dynamic on and around the film.

Yadacity and yadacity rainbow exclusive scoop: UP & COMING PROJECTS…

"JOHN DELANEY DIED LAST NIGHT":
Mid-life goes horribly wrong for an intelligent, yet hapless alcoholic found dead in the gutter of a rain-soaked Chicago street. His passing is marked by “friends” anxious to move on.

In the days of rising unemployment, scarcity of credit, a fragile stock market, empty real estate on every corner, and houses foreclosing many of us are one moment away from a version of poverty. Life is not good, or fair at times and for John Delaney, one wrong turn and all the turns after that were wrong.

Finding comfort only at the bottom of a whiskey bottle he accepts his new calling as a lonely drunk.
We are all going to die, one way or another.

It’s the one unavoidable event this “life” has given us. In “John Delaney Died last Night”, Cannes Festival Award winning writer Sherry McGuinn asks: Will he be missed?

Will old friends care? Will Delaney’s eight siblings even find out since they all turned their backs on him years ago? Do we care?

Is humanity so immune to homelessness even though we ourselves, whom could be a moment away from it, prove that “people just ain’t any good”? It could take just one wrong turn to find our answer…
What will tomorrow bring for you?

Yadacity Q&A with Brian Jones

Q:. The morning before the Indie Spirit Awards (circa 2012) are released, your "breakfast in bed would be," and it would be served by "who?"

A: Hmm. I think that I would probably have my typical breakfast the morning of the Indie Spirit Awards release of EIGHT slices of white bread toasted with butter and STRAWBERRY jam!

I love that stuff! Sometimes I like eggs on buttered toast, too.

That day would definitely be STRAWBERRY though.

I would prefer to have it served by.... The girl who made me smile. She knows who she is...

Q: So, they announce the name of your film. Which color "word" would you use to express your joy?
A: I would go with a vibrant GREEN! It's just a cheerful color to me.

Q: Spring is here. Summer is coming. Any Spring-summer resolutions?

A: Summer resolutions. That's a good one. I will have to go with getting our film "in the can" and submitted to some festivals!

I would also like to take my brothers on a trip. Just the three of us for a little relaxation.

It's been a while since we've been able to spend a few days together. I might even get a "tat" to to commemorate it! Most likely go with the fraternity letters. Family is everything after all!

That is a yadacity Q&A wrap because “family is everything after all!”

TYLER PERRY kicks "ass" and "takes" names, again....

Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too?

This new film, by the powerhouse that is Perry, is backed by the lion that roars (Lion’s Gate) and “the” producer with vision (a.k.a. the panther) that observes, in regal patience, and sees beyond the canopy of stars. That is Reuben Cannon.

The box-office can not lie; it just counts cash and Tyler Perry's Why Did I Get Married Too,” as always is making major jingle.

Why?

Why is Perry so successful? I get this question asked so many times that if I had half-a-penny, well, I would be walking Ms. O’s kids…

Here it is. Wait. Perry is successful because he is honest to the voice of people who do not have (or feel) that they have a voice.

You should see this film. You must see this film. The truth is hard but at least we get many laughs!
