The Church of Scientology--two sides--listen and learn

The chatter on line is that John Travolta is leaving the The Church of Scientology. In court, Mr T admits that his son, the late Jett Travolta (GOD BLESS the dead) was autistic.

According to those in the know the The Church of Scientology does not admit to autism.

A sprite soul of just 55, the media reports have him abandoning Scientology with glee-joy-gay happiness.

“Don’t Shoot the Messenger.”

Yadacity likes to keep it fair. There are, at least, two sides to a story.

Against:
Tory Christman, an outspoken Scientology critic, who left after more than 30 years in the organization, issued a quote (on The Daily Beast)
Saying:

"My hope for him is that he starts looking at what really happened,” she stated. "He'll reach the right decision... I just don't want him to be used by the church. It's horrible he lost his son but change something. He's a guy who could really make a difference."

On the flip side: there are two yadacity-sides to every story.
Tommy Davis, the spokesperson for Scientology weighs in. The statement (in part) is below.

Tommy Davis, who is a spokesman for Scientology, had a firm stand against Christman’s (a former Scientologist) view.

He is reported to have stated: "This religion is utterly and completely about helping. It's just insane to think that Scientology would be a factor in somebody not getting all the help they need," stated Davis.”

THE MANDALA MAKER needs a Gold Man

It's official now - THE MANDALA MAKER has its Academy-Award Qualifying screenings this Monday Sept. 28th through Wednesday Sept. 30th. THE MANDALA MAKER (34 minutes) will be shown in a block with other shorts each day at 3:30 and 6 p.m at ...the LAEMMLE GRAND 4-PLEX on 345 S. Figueroa in Los Angeles, 90071 - so ALL MY L.A. PEEPS and there are a lot of you - please get out and see it one day.

The film has honestly affected people in deep emotional ways, and I can only hope everyone reading this will feel the same if they make it to the theater ....

Again, THE MANDALA MAKER starring Courtney Hogan, Tony-Winner Terrence Mann, Daniel Roebuck of LOST, and Yangzom Brauen at the LAEMMLE GRAND 4-PLEX on 345 S. Figueroa in Los Angeles, 90071 this Monday-thru-Wednesday each day at 3:30 and 6 p.m.MAKER ...

Now for the Q&A:

Q:
Your film is burning up the film festival circuit---did you grease any
palms or is it just a good movie?

A: I won't even dignify that with a response - how much did you say again, was it $50 or $100?

Q:
What is your next project?
A:
There's been some talk of me directing several films for scripts that I did not write - one is a wonderful family film currently titled THE ULTIMATE PARTY, though the title would likely change, and another is a horror film called, SANCTUARY. I like both scripts very much, and both seem to have their money in place, so we'll see. I am also in the process of setting up several original projects, including a big-budget action franchise I wrote and created - and will direct - called NIGEL READ. Short of that, I have been mulling re-making either KING KONG or PSYCHO. No, wait a minute, that's been done already hasn't it?

Q:
What actor to you have on your dream list?

A:
That's actually a rather serious question for yadacity - do we know each other that well? Are we both at that comfortable stage yet? Ok - since I despise uncomfortable silences, I will jump in: I grew up as young child idolizing John Travolta. He was mostly Italian (and also Irish) and I am mostly Italian (and a quarter Polish - nice combo, right?). He came from the streets of New Jersey and I came from the streets of Staten Island, and I have really related with him. I've also felt he is one of the most talented - and resilient - actors of his time. The chance to work with him - he has also overcame several personal tragedies in his life, as well as reinventing his career more times than you can imagine - would be amazing. There are several other actors that are on my list including the British actor, Matthew Goode and Will Smith, obviously a huge A-list actor, as well, but his talent is well deserving of A-list status. He should have won an Oscar for THE PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS. In that film, he didn't act, but he literally became Chris Gardner. Anyone who has had money-problems totally felt like Will spent at least a weekend with them after seeing that film - . Lastly, but not leastly, I have had the pleasure to twice work with (on the independent feature REX and the aforementioned short THE MANDALA MAKER) a wonderful independent actress named Robin Phipps. She played one of the female leads, "Dee," in REX and was the inspiration behind the Naomi character in MANDALA. Even after an injury forced her out of action for the lead in the latter, I brought her on as an Associate Producer (her first producing credit) and she sang two songs, including the original title song, and she knows how very proud of her I am. Sometimes life takes you down strange paths, but I will say that when Robin and I are clicking, we have a synergy that is unmatched. Over the course of the two films we formed a strong bond that no matter how much it bends, truly cannot be broken.

Q:
Give Yadacity a Halloween Shout Out, please?

A:
HUGE Halloween shout-out to all Yadacity readers, and if you get the chance, go see CREATURE FEATURE: 50 YEARS OF THE GILL-MAN in some re-released theaters around that time. Now, who was that written and produced by again? What is that guy's name? He is a genius ....

MARVEL all the way to the Bank

Yadacity says watch out kids ---Marvel's "Ghost" is going to Ride Again
and Again and Again
The yadacity-fab Marvel universe is going to be mega busy for the next few trillion years. Columbia Pictures is the latest studio to rev up a Marvel project on the heels of Disney's pact to acquire Marvel Entertainment in a $4 billion deal. $4billion is a lot of money, the key owners of the rights will, again, find New Relatives and kids that they never had going on you tube asking for cash!

Col ‘business affairs is waiting for signatures on the David Goyer deal, yes, the talks are early but they need him to create the story and supervise writers. Mr. Nicolas Cage is set to star, fun. Note, former Marvel topper Avi Arad, Michael De Luca and Steven Paul are producing, with Gary Foster as exec producer. Ummm, yadacity can smell the money!

Allie McCulloch is Hollywood's Indie it girl.....

Allie McCulloch

Yadacity and Lush is calling out Allie McCulloch!

Allie McCulloch is an actor and producer and has recently teamed up with her husband to create a Los Angeles-based production company called That’s My Elvis Productions.

The natural beauty has been enjoying her exciting foray into producing with their first film, AMONGST FRIENDS, which Allie executive produced and starred in. AF is currently in post production and is intended to hit the festival circuit in 2010.
www.alliemcculloch.com for more info!

Here is Yadacity’s exclusive first Q&A with Allie McCulloch

Q; Who got robbed at The Emmy Awards?
My humble opinion, Mr. Neil Patrick Harris was robbed. No disrespect to Jon Cryer, NPH just can do no wrong in my book! I am also a huge fan of Jim Parsons and “Big Bang Theory”, so excited he was nominated.

Q. When you and your filmmaker husband, Ron F, walk the red carpet @
The Emmy Awards who would you want to corner first and why?
Steve Carrell, absolutely. He and his beautiful wife just seem like real, honest people who are incredibly blessed and enjoying their life with each other!

Q: What I love best about my (hands, feet, nose, fingers, toes, nose). Probably my collar bones.

Q: My favorite show .... and I don't care who knows it!
Definitely “The Real Housewives of New York City.” No contest.

THE VIEW: DON'T KILL WITH KINDNESS

Come on THE VIEW…have you lost your “cotton picking minds?”

An ambitious producer would suggest L. Jackson as a guest. A good producer would move to make it happen. A great producer would secure the deal and a brilliant producer would make it happen, i.e. see Barbara Walters.

Rewind: a kind soul, would not have made this happen. It's just our opinion but LJ needs HELP.

Just view on ABC or hulu. Sadly, we are not wrong. Then go back to EVERYTHING she said about her father in the past.

LJ is scary. Her body language tells you everything you need to know.

You can’t fool us………she needs help.

YadaCity thinks Beyonce is a winner

P.S. MTV did give Beyonce video of the year at the end of the awards... Ms.B was so gracious she gave her time to Ms. Swift...

Beyonce--- YOU ARE A CLASS ACT!! your mama raised you right!

MTV is as relevant as walkmans & mix tapes!

So, the MTV "video" awards were this sunday... yawn.

Besides their blatant use of the late King of Pop (who they didn't want to put on the air orginally) to promote a show that they should consider retiring since they don't even air videos on MTV... YadaCity had to turn it off right after Taylor Swift beat Beyonce for best female video.

Although we don't support Kanye's reaction... seriously MTV... Beyonce's Single Ladies Video had more of an impact than any of Ms. Swift's. We understand that you want to connect with the younger generation but come on! maybe you should also consider changing your name to MTV -Mundane Tunnel Vision

I GOT A FEELING......

THE BLACK EYED PEAS are LEGEND, yadacity spoke months ago on this fact—now we are speaking again and we are not wrong!

The net chatter is asking if TBEP can “top themselves” –can they keep the wave going?

Yadacity answer is a question: has the www world collectively fell down and hit their cyber head?

Yadacity is calling it—AGAIN—and please pay attention---BLACK EYED PEAS are legend.

The yadacity family would like to say, well done, please keep hiding in plain sight and when the haters rise up, just smile and be gracious they just can’t hear the “yadacity” BLACK EYED PEAS tune.

WIVES are EXPENSIVE - AMERICA'S GOT ELLEN

AMERICAN IDOL IS GAY-GAY-GAY!

Yadacity, ‘No you didn’t…” --- taking the empty judge seat is Yadacity’s favorite, Ellen D.

She will put the other judges in place with fairness and yadacity love.

The New AMERICAN IDOL is premiering January 2010, and yes, she is keeping her daytime job. Children, she has a wife and wives are “expensive.”

As quoted, the married lady said: "I'm thrilled to be the new judge on 'American Idol.' I've watched since the beginning, and I've always been a huge fan. So getting this job is a dream come true, and think of all the money I'll save from not having to text in my vote."

Yadacity adores Mrs. E!

SAM Borowski IS A WINNER, SAM IS A WINNER WITH MANDALA

“The Mandala Maker” filmmaker, our pal Sam Borowski's, continues his Brilliant campaign towards the Academy Awards –20010-- by winning the award for Best Mini-Feature at the Central Florida Film Festival.

Hollywood and Hollywood hopefuls, please, keep in mind; “The Mandala Maker” meets the Academy Awards standards for short films at 34 minutes.

Here is our Exclusive quick Q&A with the bad boy of indie films - Sam Borowski!

Q: Yadacity congrats on your path to win the Academy Award—2010-- the big question---you win the Golden Man--where would you put him in your house?

A-Sam: Well, if I actually allowed myself to dream about this event happening, I would say that the Golden Man gets his own bed ... maybe even his own room! Needless to say he would be treated nicely in my home, be well fed in the hopes of bringing some more of his golden buddies to stay.... But he would never be mistreated or overlooked in Sam Borowski's home!!

Q: At the Central Florida Film Festival, Sam, what was your favorite lunch?

A:-Sam: Ummmm, there was plenty of free grub at this wonderful festival, and I have to say the West Palm 5 in Ocoee, Fla (which showed all of the films) is a fine multiplex that had its own kitchen.

Picture a spacious brand-new multiplex - with a drive-in like concession stand - heaven for fan boys and film buffs, alike. Having said that, one day I got an order of french fries that were so good, I didn't need any other food to go with them. To top it off, I got an ice-cold Orange Crush; all while watching a fellow writer-producer's film, Beautiful Dreamer, which had previously won this festival, written by Chase Chenowith and starring Brooke Langton. A perfect lunch by any film festival's standards ....

Yadacity Comment: No you didn’t it! Go on bad boy of indie film, I am hungry for French Fries in Ocoee, Fla!

Q: What is the best thing about being a filmmaker?

A-Sam: All kidding aside? I would say the chance to do two things: entertain people, but also bring some positively into this world. For some, it's a documentary that might cure cancer, for others it's a comedy like “American Pie” or “Superbad,” with the chance to make people laugh.

Still others, there are serious dramas that touch us in the deepest chambers of our soul. Or an action movie to watch and get all of our aggression out.

Ultimately, it's the chance to touch people in some way. With “The Mandala Maker,” I have had more people - women especially - come up to me, and tell me it has moved them or spoke to them in some way. And that, to me, is as valuable as any award I can win.

But, yeah, I won't complain if the Golden Man comes along for the ride ....

Yadacity city says Yes, now go rent the movie and buy some French Fries!

SEX IN THE CITY 2

The hush-hush on the plot for ‘Sex in The City 2’ is tighter than a gay man with a hot, stock tip.

Here is what Yadacity thinks: Carrie Bradshaw is finally happy, she has her “mister big.” She has money, a brilliant apartment, book advances, heels, three best girl friends ever to walk the earth and her gay boyfriend! Now, she wants a child, Mr. Big does not. He thinks he is too old (he is and so is she). Every time she is around Charlotte, her eyes tear up and the soft-soft skin of a baby and the active mind of Charlotte’s daughter, Lilly, makes her pine for children.

Miranda reunited with Steve (our favorite every man). In this sequel, his mother dies and the issue of “time creeping away,” begins an important part of act two. Their son, Brady is having problems in school (anger management) since issues with Miranda and Steve were not “healed,” just temporarily in a cast. Magna, their babysitter-house keeper dies and Miranda finally, really, cries not just for her but also for her mother, Steve’s mother and her babysitter! Pinned up emotion.

The two queens (and I mean this with LOVE) –ok—homosexual gentlemen--- move in together. It’s a “butt of heads,” at first (style issues), but in the end, curled up in bed with winter snow swirling down and an old Classic movie on their BIG FLAT SCREEN TV mounted, just perfectly on the wall, they realize how hard it is to find love and how lucky they are!

The cancer is back with our gal Samantha---Smith (now dating a very big ticket actress) is back by her side. Her little dog refuses to leave her side and her friends are there to the end.

Her funeral is the PARTY to attend and the two in charge of the guest list (our lovely gay couple) reject many from both the wake and the funeral; it's one of the best and funniest scenes in the film.

On her way to the wake-funeral-party, Carrie finds out she is Finally going to have a baby. She touches her belly and knows, in some way, SAMATHA is back!

MILEY MILEY -- "Why?"

One of the most generic people, on this 3rd Rock from the Sun, is Miley Cyrus. I know “gag.”

If you saw her in a mall, without a bodyguard, you would walk past her.

You got your cash so can you “Hannah Montana,” away. Your 15 minutes of fame has been used up like 20 minutes ago!

Bye, don’t let the door hit where the good Lord split ya!
