Almost three years after their “vocal” exchange on NBC’s the 'Today' show, Matt Lauer and Mr. Cruise mix it up again. This time, we hear …..some things were a bit more jovial.

They did not invite me, this year, but sources tell the world that they turned the infamous "you're being glib" into a joke.

OK, I WAS not there but this is what they (media, they) are reporting. Here we go ………The fight is between ‘Mean Girl' vs. 'Ugly' girl. Wake up call, these girls are making money, why are the fighting? You have to read between the lines, and trust me THERE ARE LINES!!!!!!

A news report claims there was Major tension and Drama between Lindsay Lohan and America Ferrera on the set of 'Ugly Betty' – NOW filming in New York City. (Side Note: thanks for taking more jobs from C.A.) To continue, so much tension that Lohan's guest role (I bet she had a “pay or play” deal so if this is –true – this is just a paid vacation) was cut from six episodes to four.

According to an item in Page Six (New York Post, for those not into NYC media), a plotline in one of the 'Betty' episodes begins with Lohan pulling down Ferrera's pants.

Then -- again, according to Page Six source -- Ferrera's character tried to get revenge by doing the same, only when she did so while filming, Lohan wasn't wearing any underwear.

Some vehemently disagree (i.e. I NEED MY CHECK ON FRIDAY) with that report.

People, we have major problems in the U.S., and a naked butt (yes or no) is not one of them!!

The cash expenditures raised a “red flag,” among campaign finance experts about their legality under the Federal Election Commission's long-standing advisory opinions on using campaign cash to purchase items for personal use.

According to Advertising Age, Macrovision Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: MSVN) has sold the iconic TV Guide to the private equity firm OpenGate Capital. For $1 a dollar.
Here is the rub, Macrovision is loaning OpenGate Capital, $9.5 million at 3% interest to cover the cost of jumping life into the flaying brand while fulfilling the obligation to current subscribers.
TV Guide has to catch up, make the magazine electronic friendly and hit, and hit hard, the youth (tech savvy, multi-cultural audience).
It is true; we all watch TV but we don’t all do it on the couch any more.

AIG will hurt Hollywood Blvd

This is not really entertainment news, more personal than anything. My cousin received a letter for AIG – her account is frozen and her retirement portfolio is gone. She is in her ‘60’s and alone in the world. This is a woman who followed the rules.

The vote does have a direct effect on the entertainment industry …… and our “main street” is wide.

You must vote as your heart tells you, but your heart has a different beat when you have followed the rules and you get hurt anyway.

My opinion, we MUST change everything because if we do not, here is what is going to happen:

The rich will become Wealthy. The wealthy will become owners of the world. The middle class will become poor, and the poor will become dangerous.

THE STARTER WIFE - better than ice creme

THE STARTER WIFE is a must to Watch and or Tivo, a must to recommend to friends (and a few enemies), family, and those special pets that also enjoy watching television.

The series is rich, like a perfect, French sauce over, well anything because the sauce is that good. It is fun and makes you feel great when and after viewing.

These are tough times and Molly K, and her pals, are a breathe of fresh air. Go on …..

THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES- THIS FRIDAY - TWO DAYS AWAY

I was chatting with well know and respected line producer and recommended that he go to THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES, which opens this Friday. He was discussing how, now that his daughter is a teenager, that finding interesting entertainment choices is hard work.

You remember the teenage years; we know all the answers but none of the questions! After I broke down the key elements of what this book and movie was really about, he sent a text to his daughter. Hopefully, they will make it an all-family affair.

In the end (and it does end my friends) all you have is family. Not just the family you were born with but the family you make along the way.

This is a great film and I am told (and told and told and told) a must have novel by Sue Monk Kidd.

The writers of Tyler Perry's House of Payne need your support.

To the public Tyler Perry is the model of self-made success. His sit-com"House of Payne" is the highest-rated sit-com in the history of basic cable. He signed a deal with TBS for $200 million and sold the syndicated rights to MyNetwork for $100 million. He has won NAACP Image Awards for the much-needed diversity his films and TV shows bring to the screen.

But Tyler Perry doesn't do it all himself. We are writers who have helped "House of Payne" become the success that it is. We have written over 100 episodes of "House of Payne" in just 2 seasons and received compensation well below industry standards, no health care benefits and no residuals.

When we asked to be treated as professionals and receive minimums and benefits protected by a WGA contract, Tyler Perry illegally fired us.

Yes, it is true. Mr. Spielberg's new company will have a major "injection," from India's Reliance ADA Group. Just goggle. I love it!

This is a world economy. This is a world entertainment foundation.
As much as I love being an American, and I do, we have made mistakes that are costing the middle, lower and beyond poverty line by the second.

The rich get WEALTHY. The Wealthy become the rulers beyond borders (you do not need a passport when you have that kind of cash-credit & favors), the middle class becomes poor, and the poor become dangerous.

WAKE UP! I AM NOT suggesting that we stop going to movies, watching TV, renting movies, games, or buying books. I am requesting that we, collectively, WAKE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE SECRET Life of Bees - THIS FRIDAY - GO!!!

Lifting someone’s heart, that matters

Someone, and I cannot remember who, gave me a copy of Sue Monk Kidd’s book THE SECRET LIFE OF BEES. At first, I was not excited to read about the life of any bees, secret or not.

It was a rainy day when I was first introduced to August, Lily, Rosaleen, June, May, Neil, and the other assorted characters that live in the Boatwright’s family world. I fell in love even with the bees.

I never kept count on how many times I purchased the book for family and friends but I am sure it was a lot.

Recently, I had the privilege of being invited to the NAACP’s screening (in Los Angeles) of the film, directed by Gina Price Bythewood. I was excited to go, of course, but having sat through many movies that found life for the vibrancy of books, my expectations were, were, were ——realistic.

Here is what I have to say: This is a wonderful movie. It captures, in my opinion, the emotion and gentle love that lives between every word of the book. It asks questions about family, love and the heart break of loss and answers them with equal measure.

What is family? Who is family? What is courage? When do you show courage and why?

In these hard fincial times, going to a movie (with your family and best pals) is a luxury. When you add in the gas, parking, pop corn, (for some a baby sitter) and ticket price you expectations are high.

The Secret Life of Bees, which opens this Friday, is worth the trip. There are a few tips – go to the cheapest show, eat before you go to the movie and car pool. You will not regret the trip into the secret life of bees.

Sarah Palin's hair and Tina Fey for V.P.

There are few words left to praise Tina Fey. 30 ROCK is near genius and Ms. Fey has taken on evil, fighting with humor and comedic power, to stop the goofy left -- with her devastingly, honest portrayal of Mrs. Palin.

People believe that "one person" cannot stop ignorance and misery but that is not true. When that ticket loses, I know that Ms. Fey has played an important role.

TINA FEY FOR V.P. -- she already has the hair and glasses, not to mention the extra dose of tolerance lacking (in my opinion) on Ms. Palin’s side.

Go Tina, go Tina!

W. - George must be ashamed/love Oliver S.

Ok, I have not been given a press, advance screening to W. but the ads (brilliant) and the trailer (brilliant) are enough to get me to go the comedy. Opps, did I say comedy. "No She Didn't!" --- Yes, I did because Bush has hurt America and Americans so much, if you do not take a moment and laugh, you would take days to cry.

I would love to know your feelings on the film W. Let's send a message to Washington, in the words from the classic film NETWORK -- open your face books, youtbue, ipods, blogs and state (in every language you can speak or write and state): I AM MAD AS HELL AND I AM NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANYMORE.

AMC tv MAD MEN - WATCH THIS SHOW --- gosh, it is soooooo good

There are so many things to LOVE and LIKE about MAD MEN. Loving something and Liking something is different. This new series gives you both. I have tried to turn younger people toward this series. I was successful with Pushing Daisies, The L Word, Dexter, and The Tutors but no luck yet with this stunning series.

Of course, the writing is OFF THE CHAIN good. The acting is brilliant. The set design and all those things attached should be studied in film schools around the world. The camera department needs chocolate kisses and weekly foot rubs! They are so gifted ...... it gives me chills!

Many people have written about the talent of the casting team behind MAD MEN ........and their work (hard work) is splashed across the screen every week.

Jon Hamm as Don Draper, in this season is giving (in my opinion) his character a new depth, warmth as he faces an realized terror; himself.


John Slattery as Roger Sterling knocks it out of the ballpark--so to speak--with each performance. A still ocean that is very deep.


Vincent Kartheiser as Pete Campbell makes a "confused villain," likeable but barely. There is something oily about this character but Vincent, the actor, gives him just humanity for us to almost care.... nice.


January Jones as Betty Draper understands how to show sadness with class and a swagger. She is not out, just resting. Her skills, in front of the camera are like a cool drink on a hot day; needed and appreciated.

Christina Hendricks as Joan Holloway is such a gifted performer. Her body speaks volumes, no --- shouts volumes when her mouth is perfectly still. She is someone to watch. Christian is someone to applaud ... she paid attention in acting classes or is a keen student of body language. Either one works for me and makes watching her and re-watching her work, a joy.


Elisabeth Moss as Peggy Olson understands how to give life to a character that is fighting a huge, silent battle. It is touching and interesting to watch how little ole' Peggy is slowly pushing the lion out of the lamb.

DEXTER - You must Watch This!!!!!

Dear John Goldwyn; Sara Colleton and Clyde Phillips,

I feel like, as you three walk, people should be applauding. You have a tough job to top the first season of DEXTER. As a collective, creative unit, you have managed to make a "killer," not only likeable but also loveable. Yes, alot of that is in the acting -- of course, but its also in the writing and the vision of the creators.

In talking about an episode, I never want to "give away" a plot point (since Showtimes is so smart to re-play) but this episode, I feel, mirrors some issues that are floating hard in the U.S.

Bad things are happening to good people. Good people are being hurt by bad things. Dexter's "brief, change of pattern" to protect those he loves is -- understood. I do, strongly believe that more people will understand the foundation of the characters' decision.

There was a point, in Sunday's episode where I also wished that Dexter was my friend.

Scary but true.

I am sure that I am one, of a BILLION people, in this world that love the show, PUSHING DAISIES. Oh, and may I say "well done ABC" for being one of the first to offer full episodes on line and another big "thank you" for the flawless player.

Making art is hard work. It takes inspiration mixed with hard, earned sweat to make something as good as this show.

You know, on a bad day a little PUSHING DASIES goes a long away. The team behind this show, I suspect, must feel good about it. Not just the money (ahh, remember money) but because they managed to push their techno-color "dreams" out of their head and onto the screen.

I viewed the documentary, MY DAUGHTER THE TERRORIST and all I can say, is you must view this work.

This is profound, heart breaking, confusing, and infurating.

This is a must view with an education as to the "why" this blood shed is happening.
