Mariah in Sin City

On Friday, October 10th, I was “creatively kidnapped,” by our team, from Los Angeles to Las Vegas, to attend the Mariah Carey concert at the Palms Hotel & Casino.

I went kicking and screaming, until they gave me a sandwich. I was forced to listen to Mariah tunes during, the three+ hour trip, while they all sang along. Side note: It was a good sandwich.

At some point in the journey, I began to sing along too!
Making great time, we hit the Vegas strip, checked into The Imperial Palace and dressed up to hit the strip.

Once at The Palm, we ran into one of M.C.’s bodyguards, a burly man with a classic smile—brute force and kindness—fabulous.

Mariah’s fans enthusiasm and loyalty are legend and there are many postings, which detail how cool they are.

Hold your yadacity soxs—I think its true, true, true. The fan group on Friday was warm, funny, and generous.

I received “high fives,” “hugs” and “butt bums”—think the ‘70’s dance craze!

Fast Forward…
The party in the audience suddenly stopped. The house lights twinkled and…. then…. there was a hush; a lush-hush, filled with anticipation—then Mariah appeared.

The fans went wild, the sound of (the) applause was “almost,” deafening and I was right there with them. Side note: I did not know I could clap that loud. My legs pushed me up without me ordering them to do so.

Kudos to the director of the show…big kiss to the choreographer—brilliant choice of dancers and the lighting pattern—delicate like a buttery fly— made me almost cry.

The flow of the show, in my humble opinion, not only demonstrated her God given ability but her sense of humor.

When Mariah began to sing the final song (I will not spoil which one) my legs moved, again without notice, and I left my seat because I did not want to cry and ruin the moment.

On my way up the stairs and out of the venue, a lovely man hugged me, kissed me on the cheek and winked.

Now, I understand why I have become a fan.

In yadacity’s opinion, what makes Mariah Carey legend
is that she can touch you, pierce inside, where most of us hide.

She is an Artist: Yadacity has spoken.
