London calling again with this beauty
Described as 'the Turkish Monica Bellucci', with 'commanding presence' versatile indie princess Ayse Tezel was born in London to a New Zealand Mother and Turkish Father. She took her first ballet lesson at three years old and enrolled at repertory theatre when she was eight.
Having spent most of her childhood in New Zealand, she made her debut on the television show 'Shortland Street' in 2002 after graduating from drama school and went straight on to film her first major movie role in the American romantic comedy 'Meet Me In Miami'.
Ayse relocated to Sydney, Australia in 2003 and landed leading roles in the feature films 'Gene X' and 'Court of Lonely Royals'.
Since moving back to London to study The Method, Ayse has taken the lead female role in the English feature film 'Other Side of the Game', starred in a music video, a US TV pilot, a bebo web series and was the face of Jamesons Whisky for their Christmas 2008 'Seriously Playful' campaign. Ayse has just landed a leading role in the 2010 feature film 'Cupid & Psyche' as well as a lead in an Irish Television Show which she will begin filming next month.
Her films have been screened at the Cannes, New York, Latino, Berlin, Melbourne, Adelaide, Auckland and London film festivals. Ayse Tezel is being hailed as 'one to watch'.
Yada City has spoken. Happy Obama years to come!
